Trust
Trust is something that we seem to take for granted,
It is something that we so easily give away, most of the time without even knowing it,
it is something that once you loose it is difficult to get back,
Yet trust is what your life depends on.
We trust little things every day
A fork
A key
A door
Our shoes, clothes, and bags
And some bigger things too
Like a buildings
Staircases
Or elevators
We place our trust in inanimate objects that our life for some reason depend on
A phone
A computer
The internet
We trust our life to people every day
Every time
We get into our cars
Buy Groceries
Take a walk, a bike ride, a run
We trust our hearts to people every second
Through friendship
Love
And Family
But what if everything failed us, what if…
A fork could no longer sustain the weight of the food placed upon it?
A Key could no longer lock or unlock?
A door no longer stayed on its hinges but fell, or refused to open?
What if our shoes no longer stayed on our feet, our clothes merely fell to the floor despite our every attempt to keep them on, and our bags would no longer hold our belonging but throw them to the floor instead?
What if buildings collapsed without notice for no reason at all?
What if a staircase could no longer support weight upon the 18th step and you fell to the ground twenty feet below?
What if the elevator cable snapped as you were stepping in where is there left to go but down?
What if our phones no longer received calls, and could no longer dial?
Our computers would not turn on but left a blank screen instead?
The internet failed us leaving us to ourselves?
What if when we got into our cars no one obeyed traffic laws?
All the groceries in the grocery store were poisoned and would kill you upon consumption?
When we went on a walk we were shot at?
When riding our bikes the person who created the bike made wrong calculations and you tumble down the mountain?
When running people would chase trying to gain what was yours?
What if every single one of our friendships just terminated for no good reason?
What if everyone we loved left us?
What if even our family was gone?
What if we were abandoned?
How would you respond? Would you know what to do? Who or what would you trust?
Here is the ultimate test of trust
Trusting in something you can not see
Trusting in something or someone greater, bigger, smarter, than anything you have ever experienced
This is the ultimate test of trust
Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding;
in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Can you do it when your world is falling apart?
Can you trust God when it feels like it won’t matter even if you do?
My definition of trust is not of this world but of the Lord in heaven he is my savior, he loves me unconditionally, and he really wants the best for me, and I trust him with all my heart soul mind and strength!
I look to Joshua
Who trusted the Lord with all his heart, and God provided he brought the walls of Jericho down
I look to Ruth
Who gave up all that seemed wise for God, and he provided
I look to Mosses
Who despite every obstacle listened to God and worked really hard to make God’s will happen.
When all seems lost, when all seems hopeless, or when things don’t work out the way that I think that they should I put my trust in God, for he knows the plans he has for me and who am I to try to interfere with what he has planned!
I praise the Lord and thank the Lord for everything that he has done for me I am blessed immensely beyond what I deserve!
My prayer is, that if you are reading this that God bless you and that you learn how to place your trust in him and in him alone,
Because when no one else is there, when everything that you trust in fails you he will be the one that is there for you and who wants the best for you and will make sure that you are taken care of!!!!

Jolene, I don't know what to say, besides that is beautiful!! Trust is the most beautiful thing, isn't it!?
ReplyDeleteI love you sooo much and am soooooooo proud of you for trusting in the Lord above all else!
He will never fail you.
He will never let you go.
He will provide.
He is God, and there is no other!
Praise the Lord!!
Thank you soooo much for writing this! It totally spoke to my heart! :]

Very inspiring Jolene. It is good to remember that God is always with us, whether it be during challenging times or pleasant times. I must say, Proverbs 3:5-6 has been my favorite verse for many years now. It has helped me get through a lot of my "challenging" circumstances in life. Thank you for the reminder of how much God loves us and how we need to place all of our trust in Him.
ReplyDeleteWow, Amazing and inspirational!
ReplyDeleteI am wanting to be at the place that if all of these things were to fail everything will be okay, because GOD supplies ALL my needs, and he knows my future..It is hard and it is taking a lot of effort but completely worth it!
You know what is so funny, A minister came to our church and one line that stood out is this;
Can you believe that if you were to die right now as a believer of Christ, you would go to heaven? (we all said yes) So what can we not trust God with tomorrow...?? "
It does not make logical sense as to why the human mind can trust eternity, but thinks we cannot make it through the days ahead, lol
BTW, Check out my blog, the link is on my FB profile...
