Faith over feelings

God uses us and stretches us in every which direction, we do things that we are not comfortable with. Life is hard, painful, and full of suffering and sorrow. We question God; we question why he is doing what he is doing. We cry we struggle, and most of the time we make it through.

I wish that life was easy I wish God would just show me a road map that would guide me which direction to go, show me what I am supposed to choose. But he doesn’t do that, most of the time it does not even feel like he is talking to me at all. I feel like I am praying and asking for help and he doesn’t care enough to answer me. I question who he is and what his motives are.

But as I sit here and question him I think about all he is and all he does for me and everyone I know then Psalm 25:1-5 comes to my mind:

1[a] To you, O LORD, I lift up my soul;

2 in you I trust, O my God.
Do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.

3 No one whose hope is in you
will ever be put to shame,
but they will be put to shame
who are treacherous without excuse.
4 Show me your ways, O LORD,
teach me your paths;
5 guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Savior,
and my hope is in you all day long.

This is what God desires he wants us to trust him with our whole life!!! We need to desire him not a dream.

Disappointments, and hard times are inevitable. But with God, we can turn those disappointments into opportunities to trust Him. The first step is to exercise our faith over our feelings. To trust him unconditionally with whatever the situation may be.

"For you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long." Psalm 25:5

I pray that we may learn to live in him, trusting in him unconditionally no matter what the circumstance!!!

He placed all the stars in the sky and knows them each by name yet he loves you and me more than anything. Don’t you think that he cares about your future, your dreams, and your ambitions! He may not give us a road map or speak to us through burning bushes but he does have a plan for your life. He fixes things better than chocolate ever could. And if we can put our feelings aside and trust in him life would be so much easier. Just remember when you are struggling “what if God has it under control?” and remember that indeed he does.
