A Year of New Beginnings

This last year has been full of amazing, challenging, inspiring, and needless to say memorable moments. I have had the privilege to go through it all with my amazing husband by my side. Today we celebrate our one year anniversary. It is so odd to look back on the last year to see how far we have come. Just a few highlights....
Of course it all began with "I DO"

The Honeymoon, our first real road trip on our own!

 Tahoe
Our first day as a married couple

Disneyland
It was always a dream to come here on my honeymoon!
On the little mermaid ride
He makes so many of my dreams a reality
On the Road
Where we spent so much of our honeymoon
Monterey
One of my new favorite  places in the whole world!
Our Home
Well I guess since it is an apartment it is just temporary...

The apartment flood.... oh what a rush to be woken to your very own waterfall right in the middle of your apartment....

Our short lived first pet Mikey the itsy bitsy lizard...

CHRISTMAS

Andrew made breakfast

"No way it's a GPS"

"You really got me a tablet"
So throughout this year an amazing person, or people have been anonymously sending us "HAPPY ANNIVERSARY "  Gifts some have been gift cards to go out on a date others to get new new things for home, we even received a mattress pad (except we know that Aunt Sue blessed us with that! Thanks again)! If you are reading this blog and you sent the gift thank you it has been such a blessing and awesome surprise every time!

These are pictures of us on one such date night to see Peter pan!

What a lovely day to celebrate new beginnings! It was a lovely wedding and an awesome trip to San Deigo, too short though, next time we'll have to come up for more time!

The Fourth of July!

We made Star Spangled Waffles!
Fun times with Family and friends celebrating our freedom and America's birthday together

Our First Anniversary
Lookie what Andrew got me!
We found a Marie Calenders, and since ours closed down I  was very excited to find a kahlua cream pie
The flamingo's we're fighting!
The cheesecake factory! One of our favorite places in the world!
Andrew took me to a little waterfall to surprise me on our way home!

I couldn't believe he made it up there in 10sec before the timer on the camera went off!
Just us, one year later and hopefully wiser.

And that brings us back to today. Our first anniversary where through  all the fun we have been having this last year God has been teaching me so much. I thought I knew so much about myself and about how marriage would work before I said "I do", but have learned that it is an ongoing process of continual learning, as I am sure many of you know.
God has been teaching me that life is what I make of it, only I can choose how I am reacting, handling, or enjoying a situation and although others may assist I still have the final say. He has helped show me that Andrew is not a mind reader and if I wish things to be a certain way I need to speak up, needless to say he has been teaching me my place when to, and when not to speak up. Growing up being the oldest this last one has been really hard to do, to learn how to respect Andrew even with the smallest things, like my words.
I am so grateful I went on this journey called marriage with Andrew this last year has only concreted what I promised to him one year ago! I am so thankful God has blessed with such an incredible man who helps me to be the best that I can be.
In closing today I am so thankful for the amazing family, awesome friends and incredible husband I have been so blessed to have you in my life! You are all incredible, life would be so dull without you! Until next time I hope and pray that God blesses you immensely, and keeps teaching you more and more everyday, He is speaking to each of us right now, we only need to choose to listen!
