We're going to be parents!

This weekend has been amazing! So eventful, and So exciting! On Friday morning we found out that I am pregnant with our first child. We could not be more thrilled! I still can’t believe that God has decided to bless us with this amazing gift! Of course there is still some apprehension, wondering if we’ll be good parents or not, but I know that with God we will be fine.

So Friday morning I was feeling kinda bad so I begged Andrew to let me take the pregnancy test. We had both agreed I would not take it until Saturday, but I really thought I was pregnant and did not want to wait anymore! We waited the 3 minutes. The longest three minutes of my life, and when we looked we had two little pink lines going across the screen! My heart jumped, I was so thrilled and overcome with joy that we were going to be parents. We even took a second test, just to be sure. The rest of that day we managed to keep it our little secrete, which was no easy task. You see we went to apple hill that day with Andrew’s family, but yes we did it we kept it a secret.

Saturday was the day we decided to tell our parents the good news. We had already planned a dinner with them to celebrate Andrew’s new job. We were then able to use the dinner as a double whammy. While waiting to be seated, we handed each of them a book. On the inside cover of the book we wrote:
2013
“I may not be here yet
But I will be here soon
Please read this book to me
Around the month of June”

Their reactions were priceless! Lynda exclaimed “are you serious?” and was elated with the response. My mom started to cry and came over to hug me. Todd was smiling and my dad was tearing up. I am so excited there will be a new papa Mac in the family. He will never be able to replace the one we lost, and I will always and forever miss him. But I am so blessed and excited that my dad will get to be papa Mac to this baby. This night was so amazing I am so blessed to have four of the most amazing people I know to love and pray for this baby, it was such an exciting time, one of the happiest nights of my life!

Sunday we wanted to tell our siblings so we had them come over along with Monica, and Angelina to our apartment for a siblings get together. We used to have a bible study together that met once a week. But as the different groups in the church grew we also realized we had outgrown our bible study. Thus we try to get together once a month just to hang out! We made pizza and apple pie, played settlers and Mario party. Then we got to tell them the good news. We also gave them each a book with the above poem posted in it. There was such a mix of reactions from the “I told you so” to the “Are you guys joking” among the jumping and hugging of the whole moment. In the midst of it all Leanne comes up to me and says she doesn't get the poem. I then explained to her she was going to be an aunt, that there was going to be a new baby in the family she was so happy and excited that she hugged me and started to cry happy tears of course. Trish also came by and was so excited to here the news.  We then proceeded to have a Nerf gun war and just enjoy one and other.
Once all the excitement with our siblings had finished we called our other relatives and close friends to share the good news with them. All the reactions were awesome. Needless to say everyone is very excited and happy for us.

Again Andrew and I both feel so blessed to be given this privilege. We are excited and can’t wait to meet our new little one late June or early July. I feel so blessed to have such an amazing man to raise this child with. He is going to be such an awesome father and I am so excited to go on this journey with him.
We would appreciate prayers for a healthy baby and wisdom for us as parents and as we go to this pregnancy, so if you find the time to lift us up, that would be wonderful! Thanks!

I am going to keep updating this blog with the latest and greatest news. So stay posted!
