Oh Home Loans!
Right now in a bible study I am in we are going through
lamentations 3:21-24 which states “Yet I still dare to hope when I remember
this: the faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. Great
is his faithfulness; His mercies are new each morning! I say to myself, ‘The
Lord is my inheritance, therefore I will hope in Him!’” We memorize one verse a
month and journal our thoughts about the verse. This one has been very
enlightening this month. Which is funny because when it was first assigned I definitely
scoffed at it a little, thinking duh of course all these things are true.
Little did I know then how much this verse would impact me and my thoughts in
the weeks to come.
So about a week ago Andrew and I got denied a loan to get a
house, because we have no credit. This was very upsetting to us, because we
followed Dave Ramsey’s plan basically to a tea. He tells you in his class that
you can most certainly get a loan for a house without credit by a process known
as manual underwriting. According to two separate mortgage brokers, one of
which was recommended to us by Dave Ramsey’s website this is false information.
You do indeed need credit in order to get a home loan. I felt crushed, and lied
to by Dave Ramsey. I was sure that God was going to come through, that someone
somewhere would be willing to loan to us, despite us having no credit. I was
sure this was God’s plan as I kept repeating lamentations 3:21-24 I kept
thinking God was going to be faithful on my terms. Thus I was constantly
feeling discouraged, and feeling let down, but that has all changed for me now.
This was my big mistake thinking that God was going to be
faithful on my terms. God honestly does not do much on my terms but instead on
His. True freedom comes when we put our lives into God’s hands. When we trust
that no matter what happens he has an amazing plan for our lives. Never plan
your life in pen, but instead in pencil. Then it can be easily erased when God
has other plans. He is faithful and his love never ends. He has loved us since
before time itself. His mercies never cease, he is constantly showing us His
blessings we just need to open our eyes and look for them. Great is His
faithfulness, he will never dessert or abandon us, he knows exactly what he is
doing in each or our lives. His mercies are new each morning, the sun cannot
rise on its own, each breath we take, and everything in between is a gift from
God. I say to myself; the Lord is my inheritance therefore I will hope in him,
He is my refuge, he is my strong tower, he is shelter when I am weak, he has
come to this world to save me. I place my hope in him. For without him there is
no hope for this world. He is my ultimate inheritance no matter what happens I
will hope in Him.
We are no working to build our credit. With the hope that
our plans line up to God’s; yet our true hope lies in Him. We know that regardless
of what happens in our lives, and no matter what storms we face God is faithful
to us, and his love for us never ends!
