Documenting Delight #1

This blog post is a week in coming, I had hoped to get it out last Friday but life just kept happening. Right now my little lovebug is sleeping, the house quite, and this seems like an ideal time to type away for a few minutes.
I have decided that I want to remember this time as it is, to remember her milestones and to be able to look back at how she has changed and grown. So I thought what a better way to do it than to use my underutilized blog! I want to share on a weekly bases the new and exciting things that she has accomplished as well as share in the hardships and all the delight. So here we go with post number one.

Last week got off to a rough start Monday morning we had a doctors appointment for her. Her 2 month appointment where she would get her first set of shots. Now let me help you with the lead up. For two weeks prior to the appointment I had been having nightmares. I couldn't imagine holding my beautiful baby down for them to ruthlessly stab her (I'm sure this is a slight over exaggeration..) . I know the diseases are way worse than the side effects of shots, but that is truly hard to remember. Andrew graciously decided to go to the doctors with me. Since I was having such a hard time even just thinking about it. He agreed to do the holding. Low and behold when we got there neither of us held her the Nurse took care of it, Madeline stopped crying the instant the the shots were over and she was safely in the arms of her daddy. Needless to say Shots were much harder on mommy, I'm sure I cried just as much if not more than her. The next few days she just slept mostly and she was pretty clingy when awake. All in all not to bad.

Last week she giggled in her sleep, this is the first time I have ever herd her giggle.. Nothing can really warm your heart so much as to know that she lives such a happy life that she giggles in her sleep! When she was playing she took an interest in her own hand with such amazement and curiosity. She is learning to grab a rattle, and hates tummy time, but can lift her head a good ways off the ground. It is so cute to watch her play, everything is a new and exciting adventure. She is too much fun to watch, it is amazing to sit and watch her learn and grow. Sleeping wise she has been doing very well last week she had 3 nights of sleeping 8 hours, I'm pretty sure that is the most consecutive sleep I have had since the day she was born!

On Thursday of last week Andrew left to go to the 24hr's of lemons. This was pretty rough she seemed to do pretty well. Although I am pretty sure she missed her dad. She was moody, and clingy, and just seemed like she wanted something but never got it. When Andrew  would call and talk to us in the evening I would put him on speaker phone and she would just smile hearing his voice. When he got Home Sunday night she was so delighted. She looked like she was having the time of her life, nonstop giggles and smiles for about an hour while daddy was playing with her. It is such a joy to know that our little girl loves her daddy so much!

I feel so blessed to have such an amazing life. Andrew is such an amazing husband and father. Madeline is such a joy! I am so thankful for ever moment I get to spend with her!
